The City of Henderson’s Finance Department is responsible for developing and preparing the City’s Annual Budget to be in line with the City Council’s goals and objectives. 

The Finance Department oversees the preparation of the annual budget to ensure it is ready for Council review and adoption each fiscal year. This department is also responsible for monitoring compliance with the current adopted budget.


2025-2026 PROPOSED BUDGET





City Manager Jay Abercrombie invites all Citizens to review the City of Henderson Proposed Budget. The 2025-2026 budget is designed to address our community’s top priorities. 

Funds will focus on basic City functions such as Public Safety, Streets, Parks, Infrastructure Maintenance and Planning for the future of the City.

The government Finance Officer's Association (GFOA) established the Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program in 1984 to encourage and assist state and local governments to prepare budget documents of the very highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA's best practices on budgeting; and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal. 

Approximately 1,800 governments, including states, cities, counties, special districts, school districts, and more have been recognized for transparency in budgeting. To earn recognition, budget documents must meet program criteria and excel as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communication tool. This award is intended to recognize governments' efforts to make information available within the budget document that is transparent and easily understood by citizens in the community.
