
Volunteer firefighters freely volunteer their efforts as a way of serving and giving back to their community. They enjoy a sense of accomplishment, achievement and fulfillment from the work they do. Volunteer firefighters are crucial assets to our local fire department and their efforts are publicly acknowledged during community gatherings and events.

Volunteer Firefighter Application
When paged out, all HFD Volunteers become City of Henderson employees and are covered by City of Henderson insurance.
All HFD Volunteers belong to the Texas Local Fire Fighters Retirement System. This program is mandated by the Fire Fighters Pension Commission in Austin, Texas.
