The Henderson Police Department actively recruits minority applicants. To be considered for employment with Henderson PD as a sworn officer you must have passed the TCLEOSE licensing test and/or be licensed as a peace officer in Texas. The pre-employment screening process also includes an extensive background investigation, a psychological screening, a polygraph examination, a drug screen,a physical agility test and physical exam, and a firearm qualification course. All phases of the screening must be successfully completed to be eligible for employment as a sworn regular or reserve officer. Applications for paid positions are received when a position is open; reserve applications will be received anytime. Henderson PD’s pay scale is competitive with area agencies.
